Two Bengaluru engineers turned a friend's ATS rejections into an AI resume toolkit at ~$4K MRR
They built for months, prepared a month for Product Hunt, hit #1 Product of the Day, and then learned that distribution, not code, was the hard part.

Who built it, and what they built
Hareesh Vemasani spent about a decade building large-scale software before he and his friend Rohith decided to make something of their own. The result is ResumeUp.AI, an AI-first toolkit for job seekers.
It bundles AI-written resumes and content suggestions, a resume editor, an ATS compatibility checker, LinkedIn optimisation and a job-application tracker in one place. By late 2025 it was bringing in around $4,000 a month, run by the two founders and three staff.
Where the idea came from
As a hiring manager, Hareesh watched applicant-tracking systems discard resumes before any human read them, and saw strong candidates lose out simply because their resumes were weak.
Then it became personal. A very talented friend kept getting rejected by big companies' ATS filters without ever reaching an interview, and didn't even know ATS optimisation was a thing. At the same time Hareesh was experimenting with GPT, and one question stuck.
“What if we could use AI to instantly fix and enhance resumes?”
