Who built it, and what they built
Ashkar Gomez is the Founder & CEO of 7 Eagles, a growth marketing agency based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The agency focuses on helping brands grow through SEO and performance marketing, with the goal of maximizing return on investment for clients.
The agency says it has worked with more than 100 brands across over 10 countries. It reported $100,000 in revenue for the 2022 calendar year and described a team of around 25 marketing experts at the time of the founder's account.
“The good thing about entrepreneurship is that, here, not only do I grow, I make those around me grow as well.”
Where the idea came from
Ashkar got the idea for the agency about 3.5 years before the founder's account, while working as a content marketing manager. He noticed that most local agencies treated SEO as just one part of a broader digital marketing package, rather than offering it as a dedicated, specialized service.
He was inspired by agencies in North America that niched down into specific SEO services like technical SEO, link building, local SEO, and audits. One agency charged $9100 for a site audit, while Ashkar's employer at the time was giving similar work away for free. That gap planted the seed for his own agency.
Ashkar had no formal training in SEO. He taught himself everything through self-study and hands-on experience, driven by a genuine passion for the subject. He started 7 Eagles as a side hustle, offering only SEO and WordPress services, while still employed.
