Who built it, and what they built
AllAuthor is a book marketing platform built to connect authors directly with readers and boost book visibility through a set of promotional tools. It was founded in 2016 by Naveen Joshi and Madhuker Joshi, who saw a gap for a simple, affordable marketing option aimed at self-published authors.
The platform runs on two membership tiers. A free plan gives authors limited tool access and four book listings with no time limit, while a paid plan at $59 for 6 months unlocks every tool and unlimited listings. Many authors treat their AllAuthor profile as a central landing page for readers.
How they grew
Over the past year the team shipped new features, including New Book Release Alerts. Free members can notify followers about new releases through the platform, and paid members can send those alerts straight to followers' inboxes.
The company is also beta testing a new format of its 'Cover of the Month' Contest expected to launch by August, and it rolled out new themes for existing tools so authors have more options for book banners.
Those improvements coincided with the author base growing from 13K to 17.5K and the reader base rising from 333,000 to 375,000 since the previous Starter Story feature. Page views climbed by 10 million over the year, and revenue rose around 30%, which the founders attribute to a growing base of loyal customers and referrals.
“We need to test new ideas from time to time. We can not be stagnant or left behind.”
