Who built it, and what they built
Sanskar Tiwari is a 21-year-old software developer from Nowgong, Madhya Pradesh, India, and the founder of Blurweb App, a browser extension that lets users hide sensitive information while recording video or screen sharing in just a few clicks. The tool is aimed at YouTubers, teachers, and content creators who would otherwise spend hours blurring details in post-production. He works on the business full time and reports making over $1,000 per month from more than 2,000 customers.
Where the idea came from
After finishing 12th grade, Sanskar skipped college to learn coding and build his own projects. His first app, MarksPlus, took six months of work and earned nothing, and he later lost $500 of his father's money in another venture. He spent time in a call center job and then eight months selling life insurance by phone before a client meeting for a digital marketing idea made him realize his coding skill was the valuable asset he should keep developing.
While teaching coding on YouTube, he hated editing long videos and often exposed emails and API keys on screen. One day he needed to screen share a Google Sheet full of email addresses and spent hours learning video editing tools just to add blur. Convinced there had to be a better way, and trusting that other creators faced the same pain, he started building Blurweb App over the Diwali 2020 holiday, using three days off from his full-time job.
“If anyone reading this wants to build a business on their coding and content creating are the two most valuable skills you can have.”
