Who built it, and what they built
Tanmay Ratnaparkhe is one of three co-founders at Predis, an AI tool for social media content based in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The company started in February 2021 and the founding team has worked on it full-time for more than a year, with no other employees.
Where the idea came from
The original concept was a writing assistant for social media, an AI that scored a draft post and suggested objective improvements before publishing. That version launched in April 2021.
Conversations with users surfaced a bigger pain: people were not struggling to polish posts, they were stuck staring at an empty text box deciding what to write at all. The team rebuilt the product around that blank-slate problem, turning it into an AI generator that produces social media content for the user.
Users responded strongly to the new direction, and the founders credit the pivot as the turning point for the business.
How they grew
The relaunched product grew quickly. Monthly active users multiplied tenfold over six months, and the team attributes most early sales and signups to an AppSumo launch they pushed live only five days after the new version shipped.
