Who built it, and what they built
RAMP GLOBAL is a Hyderabad-based SaaS company building software for the automotive aftermarket. It was started in June 2017 by three co-founders, including Rakesh Biswal, and the business panel lists 18 employees.
The company sells several products: RAMP WMS for workshop management, fleet maintenance tools for companies running large vehicle fleets, and FUPO, a system for tracking how construction equipment is used and maintained.
Where the idea came from
Rakesh had run earlier ventures that taught him execution, business development, and strategy. The spark for RAMP came from a friend who owned vehicle workshops; time spent inside those shops showed the founders an underserved market ready for digitization.
The first concept was a simple billing and garage management tool. Deeper research revealed wider possibilities involving vendors, fleet operators, and leasing firms, which broadened the product's ambition around easing the burdens of owning vehicles.
How they built the first version
Because the founders knew little about the repair trade at first, they spent long stretches inside workshops observing staff behavior, shop workflows, and what vehicle owners expected, then designed features around those pain points.
