Who built it, and what they built
Chhavi Agarwal runs Mrs Daaku Studio, a blog and YouTube channel she co-founded with her husband Amit. Based in New Delhi, the site positions itself as a single destination for people looking for legitimate remote jobs and creative ways to earn money online.
The couple sells two flagship digital products alongside the free content: a bundle of templates and guides aimed at beginner freelancers, and a training package for new bloggers. Their work has been featured in publications including Business Insider, Reader's Digest, Yahoo Finance, and MSN.
Where the idea came from
Chhavi is a licensed attorney in India who spent about two years at a leading company after her master's in law. The pay was good, but twelve-hour days left her exhausted, and she gave up hobbies like sketching, yoga, and travel. She quit to become location independent.
Research led her to freelance writing, inspired by the stories of Holly Johnson and Elna Cain, and she turned a profit fairly quickly. Amit was already working remotely for Linaro, a Cambridge-based company. Looking back on their progress, they saw that many people wanted to work from home but had no trustworthy starting point — that realization became the blog.
“Choose a niche in whatever you start. It is critical for streamlining your efforts and make money.”
