Who built it, and what they built
Naveen Joshi co-founded AllAuthor with his brother, Mady Joshi, in Noida, India. The platform helps self-published authors market their books through a subscription program and featured book listings, while readers can browse for free.
The brothers started the business after noticing that many self-published authors lacked the time and technical knowledge to promote their work, leaving good books undiscovered.
Where the idea came from
Before AllAuthor, the brothers built M4maths, an exam preparation site that drew over 3,00,000 users. Naveen handled development while Mady ran accounting, marketing, and customer service, and the pair eventually left their jobs to work on their own products.
While freelancing, Naveen built a personal website for one author, who then referred more authors to him. Those conversations revealed a gap: authors needed an affordable place to list and market books without heavy time or money costs.
“We wanted our product to be that exact solution that solves the major issues of authors. So we did something at our early stage that proved to be quite valuable — talking with authors.”
