Who built it, and what they built
Abhishek Joshi founded Dog With Blog, a New Delhi-based content site that finds homes for abandoned and stray dogs in India through content marketing and social media. The blog covers pet care, adoption stories, and dogs in pop culture, and it has built a community of 116k fans across its social channels who help make adoptions happen.
The network has driven more than 900 adoptions for homeless dogs, and the site also runs brand content partnerships, including a post with National Geographic about India's stray dogs.
Where the idea came from
After his MBA, Abhishek worked as a digital marketer at an IT firm, managing the company website, content, and social media. One weekend he started a personal blog, and because he was already volunteering in dog care, dogs became the theme.
Dog With Blog was conceptualized in 2010 out of his two passions: dogs and writing. He saw that homeless dogs in India rarely found takers even though they are well suited to the tropical climate, and that there was no efficient way to reach dog lovers across the country without digital channels.
The blog grew through word of mouth and an encouraging reader base, with community culture at its core. The team also compiled city-wide lists of rescue and adoption centers so people considering buying a dog could explore shelters instead.
