Who built it, and what they built
Raghu, short for Raghuraman Ramamurthy, is a repeat founder who launched Rapid Acceleration Partners alongside two partners: his longtime friend and fellow serial entrepreneur Baskar Agneeswaran, plus Ramesh Kumar, who brings experience from Silicon Valley and Indian startups. The firm operates out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and began in September 2017 with three co-founders.
RAP builds Intelligent Process Automation solutions that combine artificial intelligence with robotic process automation. Its two products are RAPFlow, an AI-powered content intelligence platform for processing unstructured content, and RAPBot, an RPA tool that mimics human actions to connect workflows and legacy systems.
Per the company's own figures, it has worked with businesses across 6 industries, handled over 7 million content items through more than 10 million process iterations, and cut clients' manual effort by 70%.
Where the idea came from
There was no single lightbulb moment. In 2017, during conversations about the future, Raghu concluded the AI market was wide open for new entrants, particularly those tackling the automation of unstructured content processing, where many enterprise projects falter before getting off the ground.
Following a ten-year career at Barry-Wehmiller, he chose to team up with friends and start RAP. Its goal was to open up intelligent automation to businesses of every size, keeping it affordable with little development work and smooth cloud deployment.
