Who built it, and what they built
Abdul Majeed is one of five directors at Infinite Open Source Solutions LLP, a software development firm based in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The company's flagship product, Infinite MLM Software, launched in 2009 and serves businesses in the multi-level marketing industry.
The software helps MLM companies manage commissions, bonuses, distributor networks, and business reports. The firm has grown to 100 employees and reports monthly revenue of $65,000.
Where the idea came from
The five founders were colleagues at an IT company when they decided to start their own venture. They pitched their idea to a Technical Business Incubation manager, received approval, and secured investor funding for their first project: a school tracking software.
That first product succeeded technically but they struggled to market it. They pivoted to building an affiliate marketing tool, which led them to research the MLM industry. They discovered many people running network marketing businesses manually and saw an opportunity to automate that work.
Their first MLM client came from Bangladesh, and that project became the foundation for what would turn into their flagship product. They later relaunched the student tracking app with more advanced features.
