Who built it, and what they built
Olvy was started by Nishant and Arnob, friends since school who later attended the same college, where one trained as a designer and the other as a developer. The business runs from Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and began in January 2020 with two cofounders.
The product is a release notes tool that lets teams publish a polished changelog page and drop a "What's New" widget into their own product within minutes. Its distinguishing angle is feedback: readers can react and comment on releases, and Olvy turns that input into signals about which updates customers love and which need work.
Where the idea came from
Both founders had worked at enterprise SaaS startups, building products from the ground up. In those jobs they saw that shipping software involves far more than the core product: a support hub, developer hub, status page, changelog, knowledge base, and blog all shape the customer experience.
They first tried to cover that entire suite in one product, then decided to attack the problems one at a time. Release notes came first because it proved to be a larger problem than expected with no strong default option on the market, so it became Olvy's focus.
