Who built it, and what they built
Lakshdeep Rajput is the co-founder and CEO of SearchTap, a search technology product based in New Delhi, India, that delivers fast, relevant search for websites, mobile applications, and enterprise software. Most of its clients are ecommerce stores, where the product aims to lift engagement and conversions.
The product centers on search-as-you-type results and dynamically updating filters, designed so high-intent shoppers can find and buy products faster. SearchTap positions itself as a customizable search experience that needs only minimal help from a client's tech team.
Where the idea came from
Before SearchTap, Rajput ran an IT consulting company with his co-founder. The idea came from a client engagement involving a complex search integration, where no existing option matched the client's needs on features, functionality, and budget, so they decided to build their own.
Conversations with ecommerce store owners revealed two recurring problems: stores lacked the expertise to optimize their search, and the few solutions on the market were not financially viable. Those two learnings became the foundation of the product.
