Who built it, and what they built
Rohit Gadia is the co-founder of OneHash, Inc., a Bangalore-based startup registered in August 2020. The company sells two products aimed at small businesses: OneHash CRM and OneChat, a customer assistance tool. Both are built on a model the team calls FaaS, blending free and open-source software with SaaS delivery so smaller firms can afford capabilities usually reserved for large enterprises.
The CRM covers sales reporting, pipeline tracking, and marketing campaign monitoring, while OneChat handles omnichannel customer support with integrations for tools like Slack, Shopify, WooCommerce, Calendly, and Stripe. OneHash serves sectors including e-commerce, education, agriculture, non-profits, and hospitality, with the strongest uptake in healthcare and manufacturing.
Where the idea came from
Rohit grew up in a small town in India and moved to Bangalore for his undergraduate studies, taking odd jobs such as selling SIM cards and volunteering at events along the way. He spent 17 years as an entrepreneur, founding and investing in ventures across finance and technology before starting OneHash.
The idea took shape during the 2020 pandemic: a platform with the robustness of enterprise software at a price any business size could manage. The founding team started as two people funded by $2 million from their own savings. Early hurdles included skepticism about whether a CRM that cheap could be credible, and difficulty hiring people motivated by the mission rather than the paycheck.
“Talk less and do more. Often, entrepreneurs may feel overwhelmed with all the knowledge and 'motivational quotes that are available”
