Who built it, and what they built
Ajay Patel co-founded ThemeSelection, an online store selling customizable admin dashboard templates and UI kits aimed at designers, web developers, and agencies. Before starting the company, he worked as a systems engineer at Tata Consultancy Services and studied computer engineering at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology.
Where the idea came from
Ajay and his co-founder Vrushank worked together at a software firm, where they kept running into the same problem: nearly every product needed a backend admin panel, and building each interface from scratch was slow and repetitive. They decided to create reusable UI kits and admin panels so developers could start projects faster and save time, money, and effort.
“We were both working at a software company and realized that, while most products required a backend admin panel, there weren't many solutions available.”
How they built the first version
The team starts every product with market research, attending design conferences, staying active in the community, and keeping a feedback loop with users. Each product takes roughly 6 to 12 months of development before release, and all work is kept in-house rather than outsourced so they can control design and code quality.
