Who built it, and what they built
Aayush Jain trained as a biotechnologist and worked as a.net developer before becoming what he calls an accidental entrepreneur. He runs INK PPT, a presentation design agency based in Gurugram, Haryana, India, that he started in early 2015 around the idea of helping people present better.
The agency works with chairman's office teams at large enterprises, marketing and brand managers at Fortune 500 companies, and brand and experiential marketing agencies in multiple geographies. With a team of more than 30 people, the business reports average monthly revenue of $45K.
INK PPT says it has finished over 6,000 projects for clients in more than 12 countries and reports a 96% customer satisfaction rate.
Where the idea came from
Aayush worked as a software developer at Infosys, where he was asked to improve a presentation for his delivery head ahead of a high-profile meeting. That assignment revealed a talent he did not know he had, and he began requesting more presentation work internally, spending roughly six months designing decks inside the company.
Torn between a stable salary and a pull toward design, he left Infosys and joined a brand consultancy, where he spent close to three years learning brand research, identity, strategy, and design. Throughout that stint he kept noticing how weak most business presentations were.
The decision to start his own company crystallized on a road trip through Spiti in the Himalayas, where he had space to think about what he wanted. He had seen senior leaders and fast-moving marketing teams with little time to build decks, and watched external presentations repeatedly fail to hold an audience.
