Where the idea came from
Gupta grew up in a business family; his father runs a bicycle business in Aligarh that is close to a century old. He chose a technical path instead, earning a computer science degree at RBS College in Agra and later a master's degree from the Institute of Technology & Science in the NCR region.
He spent about a decade in well-regarded IT firms before deciding that digitalization represented the future. Rather than keep a salaried position, he wanted to help businesses of all sizes adopt mobile apps, web solutions, IT consultancy, and IoT products.
He left his job and teamed up with three friends who became his co-founders. The four brought complementary backgrounds spanning business consulting, IT and sales, chartered accountancy, and programming, and they spent many nights planning before establishing RipenApps in 2017.
