Who built it, and what they built
Sunil Aggarwal founded VecRas, a digital design company based in Amritsar, Punjab, India, in 2007. The business creates exclusive digital graphics, with its flagship line being vinyl-ready vector cut file templates for device skins alongside smart PSD mockups for mobile cases and other gadgets.
The company employs 10 people and lists one cofounder. Its cut file templates are sold mostly to buyers in foreign markets.
Where the idea came from
Before VecRas, Sunil had a background in graphics and design and had tried a few different ideas in a crowded field. While researching online, he noticed the gadget skin business was booming, yet very few companies sold skins, and the digital templates needed to cut those skins were not available on the web.
He saw a gap: high demand for gadget skins created strong derived demand for the cutting templates, with low competition among suppliers. That insight pushed him to offer cut file templates, smart PSDs, custom logos, and creative designs, with particular attention to after-sale service.
How they built the first version
The first products were made without a physical device on hand; measurements were estimated from the web, which hurt quality. The team later changed course, renting or buying actual devices, photographing them, checking measurements, and running repeated tests before a skin file was considered ready to sell.
